Dimensional Inspection of Tungsten Carbide Components

Accurate dimensional inspection ensures that every tungsten carbide component manufactured by Langsun Carbide fits your assembly perfectly and delivers the performance your design intends.
At Langsun Carbide, dimensional inspection is the first line of defense in quality control. We rigorously verify that each tungsten carbide part meets the drawing-specified tolerances, ensuring reliable fit, alignment, and performance in your equipment.

Our Dimensional Inspection Methods

Different types of tungsten carbide products require different inspection tools. We combine traditional measurement, optical measurement, and coordinate measuring methods to cover all critical features:
● Mechanical Gauges
Vernier calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, ring gauges, and thread gauges are used for routine inspection of outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), length, thickness, chamfers, and thread details.
● 2D Optical Projectors & Image Measurement Instruments

For small radii, complex profiles, and fine chamfers that are difficult to verify with contact-based methods, we use non-contact optical systems to inspect profiles and geometry with high repeatability.
● Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
For parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries (such as valve internals, special wear parts, and custom components), we use a CMM to inspect multi-axis dimensions, feature location, straightness, and perpendicularity.
For every drawing, we develop a dedicated inspection plan that defines critical dimensions, tolerances, sampling frequency, and clear acceptance criteria.

Why Dimensional Accuracy Is Critical for Tungsten Carbide Products

Tungsten carbide components are often assembled with steel housings, ceramic parts, elastomer seals, and other precision elements. Poor dimensional control can lead to:
Assembly Issues — An interference fit may become impossible to assemble, or excessive clearance can cause vibration and instability.
Leaks & Misalignment — Improper fit between bushings and seal rings can result in leakage, uneven load distribution, and premature wear.
Stress Concentration — Non-uniform contact surfaces create localized stress, increasing the risk of chipping or fracture.
Process Performance Deviation — For nozzles and valve cores, dimensional errors can change the flow area and jet direction, directly impacting process performance.
Because tungsten carbide is costly and difficult to machine after sintering, precise manufacturing and strict dimensional inspection are essential to prevent expensive rework and delays.

Langsun Carbide Dimensional Quality Assurance

● Drawing-Based Inspection Plans — Each product line has defined critical dimensions and a clear tolerance strategy.
● Calibrated Instruments — All measuring tools are regularly calibrated and traceable to international standards to ensure measurement accuracy.
100% Inspection of Critical Features — For safety-critical parts or components used in severe service, key dimensions are inspected on every piece, not just by sampling.
Through rigorous dimensional inspection, Langsun Carbide ensures every tungsten carbide component you receive is ready for direct assembly and performs reliably in your application.
